What is Family University?

Family University is not-for-profit corporation, established in 1994, formed following a town meeting when 300 members of the Katonah Lewisboro School District gathered to address the large numbers of alcohol and drug related accidents involving John Jay High School students.

It is a community based organization made up of dedicated teachers, parents, students, counselors and other professionals.

Family University believes that fostering effective parenting skills and enhancing communication among family members will help prevent the misuse of drugs and alcohol, and encourage children to make positive choices.

It is a valuable community resource that has impacted a growing resource that impacted a growing number of parents and children. Its reach has expanded dramatically from 400 people in 1994 to over 6000 people in 2008.
