Dear KLSD Families,
On May 9, 2017, we will hold our second Learning Café for this school year. If you are not familiar with our Learning Cafés, they are opportunities for parents, teachers, and administrators to come together for an evening of conversation and learning around a particular topic.
In the fall, we hosted a Learning Café on the topic of our Katonah-Lewisboro Learning Commitment – an aspirational statement intended to define the type of learning environment we believe will be most meaningful, supportive, and relevant to our students now and into the future. We expect this Learning Commitment will motivate and shape our work for years to come.
Because the Learning Commitment is so important to our work, and because attendance at our fall Learning Café was light (the weather was poor that night!), we have decided to keep the same topic for our spring Café. Our hope is that a larger group of parents will join us.
Based on feedback from parents following the fall café, we have also decided this time to ask parents, in advance, to share with us thoughts or questions that are relevant to the Learning Commitment and to your child’s education. We will use those questions to help frame the evening. Please click here to review the Katonah-Lewisboro Learning Commitment so that you can read it and consider a statement or question you’d like to share with us.
We do ask that you register in advance for this event, so that we can plan accordingly for the number of participants. When you register, you will be asked to share ideas or question you want us to consider for the evening.
Registration details are available here.
Date and time: May 9, 2017, 7 pm to 9 pm
Location: John Jay Middle School Dining Room
RSVP: Please use the link above to register before May 1, 2017
We hope that many of you will consider joining us and we look forward to seeing you then.
Andrew Selesnick, Superintendent of Schools
